What Electronics hiring looks like for candidates

Electronics roles emphasize hardware design, PCB, test, and validation. Lab measurement discipline and schematic literacy usually matter more than software-only portfolios.

Electronics hiring on HireSetu, read across employers

Written on 2026-09-11 from the 17 Electronics listings open then, across 17 employers; 15 are open today. It describes clusters and proportions rather than individual listings.

Electronics on HireSetu has no anchor employer at all: seventeen listings from seventeen companies, one each. That makes it the flattest field on the site, and it means no company's hiring pattern defines it — what defines it instead is the work, which divides cleanly into hardware design, power electronics and a medical-devices strand, with a few listings that are not electronics carrying the tag. Two-thirds of the roles are at zero years, and the only skills that recur are PCB design and power electronics.

What the seventeen actually contain

Power electronics is the clearest thread

Four listings are power-electronics work, and they come from four different kinds of company: AMETEK makes instruments, Xylem makes pumps and water equipment, Grundfos makes pumps, and raptee is an electric-motorcycle startup in Chennai. The spread is the point — power conversion and motor control are hired for wherever a product has a motor or a battery, not only at electronics companies, and the postings ask for the same fundamentals whichever product they attach to. Xylem's role is a graduate or postgraduate engineer trainee in Vadodara, which with Tempsens' hardware engineer in Udaipur puts two of the seventeen in cities most electronics graduates would not search.

The design roles are individually small but real

Altera's analog circuit design engineer in Bengaluru is a semiconductor role that sits closer to the VLSI page than to the rest of this list. Arista's WiFi and switching hardware engineer in Pune and Siemens' hardware engineer in Bengaluru are board-level design. NKT's trainee design engineer in Chennai is at a cable manufacturer, and Flex's component engineer in the same city is the part-selection and qualification work that sits between design and manufacturing. Infineon's trainee hardware specialist is board-level validation — the Infineon write-up explains why nearly every Infineon role on the site is validation of one kind or another. PCB design is the skill that ties these together, appearing on five of the seventeen listings, and it is the one thing a candidate for this field should be able to show finished work in.

Medical devices in Bengaluru

Baxter's electrical engineer at Whitefield and Vantive's electrical engineer II — Vantive being Baxter's kidney-care business — are medical-device electronics, which carries the regulated-product expectations the Manufacturing page describes for GE HealthCare. Vantive asks for one to three years; Baxter is at zero. Together with Infineon's Bengaluru trainee they make the city the centre of what little concentration this field has: six of seventeen listings.

Reading the tag

Three listings are not electronics work: eClerx's graphic designer in Coimbatore, with a zero-to-six-year band that is not an entry role however it is tagged; Mouser's customer service assistant, at an electronics distributor but a service job; and Astreya's hardware support technician, which is IT field support. Set them aside and the sample is fourteen listings from fourteen companies. That is too few to say much about the market, and the honest reading is that electronics hiring reaches HireSetu one role at a time from employers whose main business is something else — instruments, pumps, medical equipment, cables, networking — with PCB design as the common test and power electronics as the one strand a candidate can build toward.
