HireSetu Privacy Policy for Candidates

Who we are

HireSetu is operated by Prashanth Jakkula for candidates primarily in India. For privacy requests contact contact@hiresetu.org.

Information we collect

• Usage data — pages visited, searches, filters, job views, and interactions
• Device and network data — IP address, browser, device type, and server logs
• Account data — name, email, and profile fields you choose to add via Supabase authentication
• Resume and profile content — files or text you upload for storage or AI Resume Optimizer
• Communications — contact messages, feedback, job reports, and support emails
• Payment metadata — transaction references for prepaid credit purchases (processed by Cashfree)
• Cookies and similar technologies — see Cookie Policy

How we collect information

• Directly from you when you sign in, edit a profile, upload a resume, submit forms, or email us
• Automatically through server logs, cookies, and analytics when you browse
• From service providers such as Supabase, Google (sign-in, analytics and AdSense), DeepSeek, Resend, and Cashfree

How we use information

We use information to operate and improve HireSetu, authenticate accounts, deliver AI features you request, respond to inquiries, review job reports, measure traffic, prevent abuse, process payments, and display advertising where enabled. We do not use your resume content to invent fake job listings.

Legal bases (where applicable)

Depending on your location we may rely on consent (cookies/ads where required), contract performance (providing requested services), legitimate interests (security, product improvement, fraud prevention), and legal obligations.

Authentication — Supabase

HireSetu uses Supabase Auth for sign-in, with Google as the sign-in provider. Supabase processes identifiers such as your email address and issues session credentials. Signing in with Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with HireSetu under Google’s own privacy terms.

Storage — Supabase

Application data and uploaded files are stored on Supabase infrastructure controlled for HireSetu operations.

AI processing — DeepSeek

When you use the AI Resume Optimizer, the resume text and job details you provide are sent to DeepSeek to generate the tailored draft. DeepSeek stores and processes API data on servers in China under its own terms. HireSetu can switch this processing to Google Gemini as an alternative provider; if it does, the same data goes to Google instead. Do not include government ID numbers or other data you would not share with an AI provider. You must review AI output before submitting it to employers.

The notes on job pages are also drafted with DeepSeek, but only from the employer's public posting. No visitor data is sent for them.

Analytics — Google Analytics 4

We use GA4 (measurement ID G-TXTEJFGQ0T) to understand aggregate site usage. You can limit analytics through browser settings or Google opt-out tools.

Advertising — Google AdSense

HireSetu may use Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-3783417671561047) to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on prior visits to this site or other sites, subject to your consent choices where required by law.

You can manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings and review Google's partner policies at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Feedback and job reports

Feedback, standalone job reports, in-job problem reports, and page usefulness votes may be stored with category, message, job identifiers, page path, and a truncated user-agent string to improve the product and correct listings.

Information sharing

We share information with service providers who help us operate HireSetu, when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell candidate data as recruitment leads.

International transfers

Service providers may process data in countries other than India. We use providers with appropriate contractual and security measures.

Retention and security

We retain information as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. We apply reasonable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and deletion requests

Email contact@hiresetu.org to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a portable copy of your data where applicable law provides these rights. We may need to verify your identity.

Children's privacy

HireSetu is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

External employer websites

Apply links take you to third-party employer or ATS sites with separate terms and privacy practices. HireSetu is not responsible for those sites.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
