HireSetu's note
Component engineer here means board design
At plenty of companies a component engineer picks parts, keeps the approved vendor list current and chases obsolescence notices. Lam's description is design work: analog and digital circuits, boards, then hands-on validation of what you built in the lab. The components end up in etch and deposition tools, the machines that make semiconductors, and OEM parts sit alongside custom designs.
So the day looks closer to a hardware design engineer's than to a parts-cataloguing one. If you have built and debugged a board at college, most of the posting will read as familiar territory.
Where the bar sits, and what to confirm
Two things are hard filters: a bachelor's in electrical engineering or a related field, and no prior professional experience. That makes this a genuine fresher opening. Hands-on circuit design, signal and controls theory, board design, troubleshooting and lab validation are requirements, not wishes, so a project where you designed, measured and fixed something is the strongest thing you can bring.
The tool list, PCAD, OrCAD, Zuken, AutoCAD, Spice, ADS, HFSS, sits at familiarity level. Naming two you have actually used and saying what you simulated or laid out with them says more than a claim across all six. Power and controls for automation, DFM, DFR and troubleshooting with protocol analyzers and tool logs sit under preferred qualifications.
On location: the header says Bengaluru and onsite, while the standard paragraph at the end describes flex arrangements. Confirm which model this requisition follows, because it decides how many days a week you are at a Lam or supplier site.
