HireSetu's note
Which job is on the table
The listed responsibilities belong to a team lead: recruiting engineers, agreeing project fees, invoicing, staff utilisation charts, KPI reporting, professional indemnity issues and mentoring juniors. That sits oddly beside an associate title with zero years required. Ask on the first call whether you are joining the Bengaluru MEP design team as a junior electrical designer or the Noida capacity build-out, because the two weeks look nothing alike.
The listing mentions a short secondment to visit WSP India offices and personnel. Ask how long it runs and where you would be based during it. Sorting out the reporting line and the actual desk location now saves a surprise two months in.
The tools and standards in daily use
The software names worth knowing are Amtech, Dialux or Relux, Hevacomp and IES. Nobody expects a fresher to be fluent in all four, but having opened Amtech for cable sizing or Dialux for a lighting calculation will help you follow the work. British standards and Building Regulations Part L appear throughout, so read up on what Part L covers for energy performance in buildings.
Designs get checked against CDM and quality assurance standards, so someone senior reviews your calculations, and part of the job is looking over CAD outputs to judge what needs deeper checking.
WSP runs a third-party background verification before employment starts. Keep your dates and documents consistent across everything you submit, including the uploads at application stage.
