HireSetu's note
The eligibility bar is exact
Four things decide whether your application gets read: a B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering, 65% aggregate, no backlogs, and a 2027 graduation date. None of these reads as a preference. If you finish in 2026, or have a backlog you plan to clear later, this opening is not the one for you.
The role is based in Bengaluru and Lam runs hybrid schedules, so expect to be on site or at a customer or supplier location for part of your week.
Upgrades on tools already in the field
The opening sits in the Customer Support Business Group, whose stated job is spares, upgrades and services for tools customers already own. The engineering is productivity and technology upgrades across the Dextro, Etch and Dep lines, run through projects labelled EPL and PPL, with global product and field support teams on the other side.
If you pictured a clean-sheet design role, adjust that picture. Much of the work is changing hardware that exists: a subassembly needs to be cheaper, more reliable or quicker to service, and you design, simulate, prototype and test the change. Field feedback drives the next version.
Schematic capture and something you built
Lam lists hands-on prototyping and assembly, schematic development in any CAD package, and circuit simulation software. That trio describes someone who can take a circuit from a drawing to a working board and back. A simulation that converges is a starting point, and the part worth telling people about is the board that misbehaved and how you tracked the fault down.
Name the CAD tool you used and say what the schematic did. If your projects so far live on paper, build something small before applying. Assembly and prototyping appear as requirements, so a club build or an internship bench counts.
