One hard filter, the rest is teachable
A graduate degree or an LLB is the requirement that matters. Experience is capped at 0 to 1 years post-qualification, and knowledge of GDPR is listed as desirable, not mandatory, so the team expects to train whoever it hires. A law graduate with no privacy electives and a commerce graduate who writes cleanly both clear that bar.
The Statistics tag on this listing overstates things. Numbers appear in one duty: collating figures from systems and stakeholders into management information for the DPO. Solid Excel and a tidy summary cover it. MS Office and SharePoint are the tools actually named.
The base is Gurugram and the team you support sits in the UK. Ask about the hours you would need to overlap with London before you accept.
Redaction is where the job gets hard
Data subject access requests split into three parts: collating documents, judging relevance, and redacting. The last one carries the risk. Before an interview, revise the standard grounds for withholding material from a request: another person's personal data, legally privileged documents, anything that would prejudice an investigation. Know the statutory deadline for answering a request and what happens when it slips.
For impact assessments, read through a published DPIA template once. The shape is always the same: describe the processing, name the risks, set out the mitigations.
Two rounds are listed, KGS first and then the onshore team on video. The listing asks for someone who articulates points clearly in writing and out loud, and the second round puts that in front of the people whose mailbox you would run.
