HireSetu's note

Five days at the desk

The posting states it plainly at the end: five working days from office. There is no hybrid arrangement to negotiate around, so weigh the daily Chennai commute before you apply. The work sits close to machines and systems, which is why the team is physically together.

Applications run from 23 September to 7 October 2026. That is a fortnight, and engineering listings at this company close on the date printed.

Where the hours actually go

The first responsibility listed is gathering and analysing client requirements to produce an SRS document, followed by code, testing, debugging and post-production support. On a real embedded team that split matters: a fresher can spend more of the week in specifications, code reviews and bug triage than writing new firmware. The skill descriptors back that up, with requirements analysis, system testing and troubleshooting sitting right next to software development.

Read the degree line twice: Engineering, Computer Science or Materials Science. Materials Science is an odd fit for embedded software, so from that background you would need to show where the C, C++ and microcontroller work happened.

Heavy equipment software talks over CAN buses with J1939 on top. If your projects so far are Arduino or bare-metal boards, that is the protocol layer to get familiar with.

Three things to pin down

Ask which machine or product line the team supports, and whether you would stay on one system or be moved between them. Ask how post-production support is organised: a scheduled rotation, an on-call rota, or daytime tickets only. Then ask what share of a normal week goes to specifications, to coding and to support, because that answer describes your first year better than the job title does.
