HireSetu's note

A team lead role in an associate wrapper

Two things decide the fit here: you have prepared or reviewed banking regulatory returns before, and you have run a team. The opening lines about processing, reviewing and issue resolution describe the whole operations function. The paragraphs further down are the actual job. Reconciliations between system extracts and financials are named in it, and those are where a lot of the week goes.

Which returns you have touched matters

GPB, NOP-INR, FTD, CBWT, CRILC, RLC, LEF, RAQ, DSB XII, PSL, CIC and RBS returns all appear. Few people have owned every one, but anyone who has prepared RBI returns knows the shape of the work: data pulls across systems, sign-offs, variance queries, fixed deadlines. If your background is MIS and dashboards with no return submissions behind it, this list is a long way off.

Automation is written into the role

RBI ADF and RBI CIMS, BRDs, functional testing, defect resolution: you would sit between the reporting team and Technology pushing submissions into systems. That is different work from preparing a return by hand. Anyone who has been on the business side of a reporting change should say so plainly, since it is the part of this job that takes longest to learn from scratch.

Month-end sets the rhythm

Submissions run to RBI cut-offs, so month-end and quarter-end are the heavy stretches of the calendar. The listing asks for accuracy under competing priorities and escalation when something breaks, which tells you how the desk operates. Two years here puts regulatory reporting, controls and automation on one CV, and that combination moves well into finance and risk roles at other banks.

  1. Open Barclays's careers site with the Apply button.
  2. Create a Workday account for Barclays. Workday logins are separate for every company, so an account made for another employer won't work here.
