Quick answer: The title says Systems Engineer while the body describes an intern role that grows into ownership, so treat this as an entry-level systems job with a real ramp-up. The two requirements that decide your fit are a hands-on project spanning mechanical, electrical and hardware or firmware, and some exposure to SOR/SRS or DFMEA.

Systems Engineer
0-2
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Systems Engineering Intern to help build and evolve our vehicle telematics and energy-stack products across hardware, firmware, and software domains. You will work alongside senior engineers and OEM partners, supporting cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, firmware) to ensure seamless system integration and to move products from requirements through validation. You'll start by supporting core systems-engineering activities and grow into greater ownership as you ramp up.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and management of System Requirements (SOR/SRS), functional requirements, and system specifications.
Assist in creating system architecture and defining system interfaces across hardware, firmware, and software.
Contribute to DFMEA, risk analysis, and design-improvement activities.
Help maintain requirements traceability and change management.
Support the preparation of verification and validation plans; execute functional, performance, and reliability tests under guidance.
Help identify system-level test cases and draft procedures for major components (powertrain, battery system, charger system, telematics).
Interpret test data using basic numerical analysis to support objective decisions.
Participate in design reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
Create and maintain technical documentation (schematics, integration workflows, validation reports).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support timely product development and compliance with quality processes.
Requirements
0–1 year of experience (including internships and academic/capstone projects) in Systems Engineering, embedded systems, or electrical/firmware development.
Bachelor's degree (or final-year student) in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
Exposure to requirements documentation (SOR/SRS), DFMEA, or requirements management — through coursework, projects, or internships.
Foundational understanding of system integration, verification, and validation.
Basic understanding of power electronics, control systems, and hardware/circuit debugging.
At least one hands-on project spanning multiple domains (mechanical + electrical + hardware/firmware).
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with eagerness to learn.
Good to Have
MATLAB / Simulink or any other modelling or requirement-flow-down tool.
Formula Student / BAJA or similar hands-on engineering-team background.
Any exposure to integrated systems and a holistic, cross-platform view.
Mindset
A non-compromising attitude toward product excellence, balanced with a flexible, collaborative approach and a genuine willingness to break assumptions, learn fast, and build.
Required Skills
embedded systems
RCA
Good understanding of electrical and electronic circuits.
Basic understanding of Lithium-ion battery systems.
Ability to read circuit diagrams.
Familiarity with EV motors, controllers, and BMS.

HireSetu's note
The bar, and the extras
Your degree needs to be Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or close, and final-year students are eligible, so this is genuinely open to freshers. The multi-domain project is where most candidates fall short: a battery pack, a small EV drivetrain, a robot, anything where you touched the mechanics, the wiring and the firmware. If all your projects sit in one domain, that gap is the first thing to fix.
Requirements documentation, DFMEA and traceability are listed as things you can have picked up in coursework. Read one SRS end to end before you apply so the vocabulary isn't new. MATLAB/Simulink, Formula Student and BAJA are nice-to-haves, not filters, so don't talk yourself out of applying over them.
Settle the intern framing
The posting is headed Systems Engineer but the body calls it an intern role. Ask how long it runs, whether it converts to full-time, and what you'd own in the first six months. That answer changes what this job is worth to you.
Also find out how the week splits between desk and lab. The responsibilities cover writing specs, architecture and traceability as well as executing functional, performance and reliability tests on powertrain, battery, charger and telematics components. Those two sides feel very different, and the balance matters more than the job title. The work is onsite in Noida with OEM partners in the picture, so confirm the office location and how much time goes to coordinating with them.
