HireSetu's note

The band is wider than the role

The listing asks for 5 to 10 years, then describes the work in junior language: basic understanding of ELV principles, working under the guidance of senior engineers, reviewing vendor submissions with supervision. Read it as a mid-level design engineer post sitting under a Principal Engineer. Ten years in and already running ELV packages on your own, and the scope here will feel narrower than the title. Four or five years with FDAS, IBMS, CCTV and PA design behind you, and you are squarely in the range they describe.

What the job turns on is the design documentation itself: equipment sizing, battery sizing, voltage drop and cable sizing calculations, I/O and interface schedules, BOQs. Have one project where you produced those yourself, and be able to walk through the numbers.

A drawing and coordination week

Most of your time goes into schematics, system architecture, block diagrams, equipment and cable layouts, tray and conduit routing, plus the schedules and design reports that hang off them. You will be in the middle of architects, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire and life safety, civil and structural teams resolving interfaces, and feeding engineering inputs to BIM modelers. Vendor datasheets and compliance statements land on your desk for review.

The CTR team designs for projects in the UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Canada and Denmark and coordinates with Systra offices in Paris, Poland, Dubai, the Philippines and Brazil. Overseas codes and client standards apply, and calls land early or late. Ask which project and which country's standards you would be staffed on before you commit.

Work is onsite in Noida or the New Delhi and Faridabad side, at a desk with the project teams.
