We are looking for a motivated RF Engineer to strengthen our global Local Coil development organization. In this role, you will contribute to the sustaining, verification, and continuous improvement of local RF coils used in Magnetic Resonance (MR) systems, ensuring high quality, compliance, and performance throughout the product lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities
Take ownership of sustaining activities for local RF coils within MR systems, including verification and validation.
Manage and execute change requests, from analysis through implementation.
Perform complaint handling and root cause / failure analysis.
Plan and execute verification and validation of design changes.
Implement design changes driven by regulatory requirements (e.g. RoHS compliance), component obsolescence, or general electrical improvements.
Develop and test printed circuit boards (PCBs) within a modular ("Baukasten") development environment.
Support and optimize production, including localization activities.
Apply agile development methods and collaborate closely with colleagues in the global Local Coil team to plan and deliver required tasks.
Work in close cooperation with Product Owners and technical experts across functions.
Ensure achievement of project targets related to schedule, cost, and quality within your area of responsibility.
Be willing to travel initially on a short‑term business travel basis to Germany and China.
Your Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on RF / high‑frequency engineering.
Ideally, initial experience in the MRI environment, preferably in the development of hardware or software components and their interfaces.
Solid knowledge of electromagnetic fields (E/M fields), EMC, and mechanical aspects relevant to electronic systems.
Knowledge of MR physics and first hands‑on experience operating an MR scanner are considered a plus.
Structured, analytical working style combined with strong teamwork and communication skills in an international environment.
The employer’s company overview, benefits and equal-opportunity statement are left out here; they are on the original posting.

HireSetu's note
The degree is the hard filter
Siemens asks for a Master's in electrical engineering, preferably with an RF or high-frequency specialisation, and that reads as the line that sorts the pile. The rest is softer: "ideally" covers the MRI exposure, and MR physics plus scanner time sit in the plus column. Applying with a bachelor's and solid RF work behind you? Say so in the first few lines instead of leaving the reviewer to guess.
The coils already exist
The responsibilities describe hardware that is already sitting in hospitals: sustaining, verification, change requests, complaints, component obsolescence, RoHS-driven redesigns. Most of the job is keeping a coil manufacturable and compliant as parts dry up and regulations move, which is a different day from designing one from scratch. PCB development inside a modular Baukasten setup keeps board-level work in the mix. It suits someone who enjoys running a failure down to its root and closing it out.
Revision that pays off
Electromagnetic fields and EMC come first, since the listing names them outright. Get comfortable with transmission lines, impedance matching, and how a coil behaves next to conductive and dielectric loads. Working-level MR physics helps: Larmor frequency, signal-to-noise, how a local coil couples to the body and to the scanner. Coil heating and SAR limits connect the electrical side to the mechanical and safety requirements they mention.
Travel and how the team is spread
Short-term trips to Germany and China at the start are stated, so ask how long they run and how often they repeat. The Local Coil group is global, with product owners and technical experts across sites, and Bangalore is one node. Find out how tasks split between Bangalore and the rest, and which MR platforms your coils support, since that shapes the production and localization work you would take on.
