Project engineer is the loose label

Hitachi's description is software development. The actual day sits inside a codebase: writing application or utility code, joining requirements discussions, and fixing errors when scope changes or testing finds a problem. The P1 grade means first-job level, with close supervision, smaller problems, and time spent learning the team's coding standards, review process, source control and build steps.

The title will pull in people expecting schedules and budgets. This is a coding role at an energy technology company, onsite in Chennai.

Lead with code you maintained

The listing names programming, scripting and database languages, along with coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing and operations. A CV that lists languages without evidence is weak here. Lead with one or two projects where you wrote code someone else could run and change, and name the language, database and what the software did. If you worked in a repository with reviews or a build step, put that beside the project. Any work where you pinned down requirements or connected software to hardware belongs near the top too.

The job then becomes reading existing code, changing it, and checking the change did not break something else.
