Quick answer: Cockpit display graphics work in Hyderabad for an engineer with a year or more in C and C++ plus real OpenGL. The libraries render the displays, and the job is as much about proving they behave as building them.

HireSetu's note
A week inside a debugger
The code you'd own renders cockpit displays: graphics primitives, widget definitions, the layer that lets a user application draw on screen. A good share of the week goes to debugging, which in this world means reading crash dumps, mapping an address back to a line in a binary, and using Lauterbach when a fault shows up only on target hardware. Avionics graphics codebases are large and long-lived, so reading before writing counts for a lot.
OpenGL is the gate
Associate Engineer sounds like a fresher posting. It isn't. A year of software development and verification is the floor, and hands-on OpenGL is what separates the applicants. Plenty of strong C++ engineers have never touched a rendering pipeline, and that gap shows in an interview. Verification carries real weight too: unit tests, structural coverage, the paper trail that proves a build does what it claims.
Two years here buys a narrow specialism
Cockpit display work is a small field. A stint here leaves you with rendering on constrained hardware, target-level debugging, and familiarity with the evidence trail safety-critical software requires. Those skills stay mostly in aerospace and defence, though the same graphics and embedded debugging experience shows up in automotive clusters and medical displays.
Details to settle before you accept
The role is hybrid out of DLF Cybercity in Gachibowli, and the onsite split is agreed with your leader, so ask what that looks like for this team week to week. Ask which aircraft program the position sits on and whether development or verification takes more of your time, because the two feel very different. Access to target hardware and Lauterbach rigs is another one to pin down early.
