Quick answer: Structural design work on unmanned airframes, wings to fuselage, for a Bengaluru startup building a stratospheric HAPS platform and an air/ground launched autonomous system. The cleanest way in is an M.E or M.Tech in mechanical or aerospace with 0 to 2 years behind you.

HireSetu's note
Two degree routes, one design bar
The entry bar comes as a formula: M.E or M.Tech in mechanical or aerospace with 0 to 2 years, or B.E/B.Tech with 2 to 5. A B.Tech fresher sits outside both brackets, so airframe work from an internship or a student team is what carries the application.
What gates the shortlist is structural component design: wings and fuselage, static and dynamic load behaviour, hand calculations alongside linear static FE analysis. Aeroelasticity, combat UAV design and MATLAB or Python scripting are good to have, depth you can add later.
Mould and fixture design is the gap for freshers
Material selection here spans carbon fibre and aluminium alloys, and the role covers designing moulds, tooling and fixtures for part manufacture. Tooling gets little airtime in a mechanical syllabus and it is a discipline of its own.
One project where you sized a member, picked a material and ran a load case beats five that only produced geometry. If your work stopped at the CAD stage, describe the hand calculation instead and be straight about what came next.
Load paths, and what PDM work involves
Expect to talk through load paths, bending and shear in a wing box, panel buckling, and how a joint carries its load. GD&T to ASME standards and assembly stack-up checks matter because the tolerances decide whether parts fit. Composite layup and ply orientation are worth an evening.
PDM and PLM sit on the must-have list, named as ENOVIA VPM or Teamcenter. Know what check-in, revision control and release mean on a part file. College projects rarely touch these tools, so a short tutorial run is cheap preparation.
Which programme, which site
Ask which programme you'd land on, the HAPS stratospheric platform or the air/ground launched stand-off system, since the structural work differs between the two. Ask how a task splits between CAD, hand calculations and FEA, and how much shop-floor time comes attached, given the job includes solving production problems and designing fixtures. The company runs across Bengaluru and Delhi NCR while this posting is Bengaluru and onsite, so confirm which site the structures team sits at.
