Support work with fares at the centre
The title reads like a helpdesk seat. The substance is airfares. You'd take mid to high complexity fare issues in both live and certification environments, work out what went wrong with pricing, taxes, currency or ancillaries, and recommend the fix. Part of the job is ranking those fixes by financial impact and usability so engineering knows what to pick up first.
The experience bar is soft: travel background preferred, Sabre GDS and ATPCO knowledge listed as pluses. What the team needs is someone who can dig through a problem alone and will learn fare rules properly. Ask about shift coverage when you're called, since a care team serving airlines and agencies across time zones rarely keeps neat office hours.
Fares knowledge you can build now
Fare construction, fare basis codes and the ATPCO filing categories behind published fares are the vocabulary of this team. Add taxes, currency conversion and ancillaries, since each is named as an issue area you'd handle. If you've worked in any GDS, know your commands cold: availability, fare display, pricing, and how to read a fare record end to end. Amadeus or Galileo time counts for something, and any API exposure is worth a line on your CV.
Two commercial products appear by name, Direct Fares Filing and Agency Managed Commission. Read up on what each does, because supporting them means understanding the money rules underneath, not just the screens.
Debit memos have a clock on them
Agency Debit Memos are what airlines raise when an agency breaks fare or ticketing rules, and Sabre's Fare Guarantee Policy commits the team to researching them fast. Expect to read PNR history and fare records, decide whether the ADM stands, and write up the reasoning before the clock runs out. Money and a deadline sit behind this part of the work, which is why the listing pairs it with the Fare Guarantee Policy.
The role also sits inside a wider Customer Care organisation, so people get pulled into other domains when the queue demands it.
