The one-year floor requirement
The degree bar is wide: diploma or bachelor's in mechanical, manufacturing or aerospace, or equivalent industry experience. The experience bar is narrow. One year minimum of hands-on shopfloor work in machining or assembly, sitting inside a broader 1 to 5 years of manufacturing support. College projects and coursework don't cover that.
Most of the rest, Solumina, Teamcenter, SAP, AS9100, aerospace interiors, is marked preferred. NX or CATIA V5 is not: it sits under must-have, so arrive with one of the two at a working level, including the ability to open a model and read dimensions off it.
Revise drawings, BOMs and routing fields
Three things carry this job day to day: reading a drawing with GD&T callouts, knowing how an MBOM differs from the EBOM it is built from, and understanding what a routing actually holds. Here that means steps, hours per step, lot size, tools and long text, all edited in SAP. Learn that vocabulary before you apply, because you'll be working inside those fields from the start.
Give drawing interpretation the most time. A misread callout becomes a wrong work instruction that a technician then follows on the floor.
Ordering your CV
Lead with the shopfloor months, then the systems. Say what you built or assembled, which machines, which line, and what you changed about how the work ran. Put NX or CATIA V5 next, then SAP, Teamcenter or Solumina if you have touched them, then Microsoft Office.
If you have handled engineering changes, non-conformance rework or quality notifications, give each a line. They map directly onto the MBOM changes, NC rework programs and QN work described here, and they read stronger than a list of software.
Shopfloor hours behind a hybrid tag
Hybrid covers an office job at the Northgate campus in Bengaluru, but production doesn't pause for it. Work instructions, tool orders and routing changes feed a live line, and the role also supports aftermarket field repair and retrofit designs. Ask how floor escalations reach you outside office hours, since that shapes your week more than the hybrid label does.
The interiors focus means cabin assemblies. If your shopfloor time was mostly machining detail parts, spell out how you worked alongside assembly and installation sequencing.
