HireSetu's note
The one-year bar is about drawing speed
The degree is a filter: electrical or instrumentation, diploma or BE/BTech. After that the gating item is hands-on AutoCAD and E-Plan. One year of experience means they want someone who can read a customer spec and start laying out schematics without hand-holding, not a veteran. Know your way around a DOL starter, a star-delta circuit and VFD wiring before you apply, because panel design leans on that daily.
The listed scope runs wide: PLC selection, MCC sizing, enclosure layouts, calculations, standards. Nobody owns all of it on their first projects.
Panel design with commissioning attached
Plenty of design engineer jobs stop at the drawing set. This one runs to installation, testing and commissioning, so your schematics get checked against what was actually wired in the panel. Ask how commissioning trips are split across the team and how long they run.
The base is Pune and the work is onsite. Home or hybrid arrangements don't fit the way this job is written.
The extras carry real weight
Rittal enclosures, Rockwell SIL2/3 work and hazardous-location design are called out as advantages, which puts them above the longer skills list. Same with E-Plan against AutoCAD: if you have E-Plan, lead with it.
If you know one automation platform, name it plainly. Siemens, Schneider and Rockwell panels differ in detail, and a designer who has done CompactLogix hardware is a different candidate from one who has only read the brochure.
Sorting out the contract
This is contract work, so the questions worth asking early are about duration, whose payroll you sit on, and which project or end client you'd be placed against. Confirm which design tool the team uses day to day, since AutoCAD and E-Plan are both listed and teams lean on one.
Fix the travel picture too: how often you go to site, where, and whether expenses are covered.
