HireSetu's note
The degree is the hard line
A bachelor's in mechanical engineering is the one requirement with no flex, and the 0 to 1 years window means this is built for a fresher or someone a few months into their first job. The rest is softer than the bullet list looks. CATIA is named as the preference, but what's actually required is one or more CAD tools, so SolidWorks or Creo project work counts for something.
The PLM tool is the gap most freshers have. If you've only ever saved files to your laptop, you can still talk about how you tracked revisions and kept a bill of material straight in a college project. That's the same idea at a bigger scale.
A module, a model, a drawing
You'd own one design module inside a larger mechanical system: sketch concepts, block out a quick model, then build it out as a fully parametric design with proper drafting standards. Sheet metal, cabling and harness work sit inside that, so it isn't one tidy part family. You check your own drawings against Eaton's standards before anyone else sees them, which is part of the job and not overtime.
GD&T and tolerance stack-up are named directly. They decide whether a drawing is usable on the shop floor, and they're the two topics engineering colleges rush through. Spend real time on stack-up before you walk in; it's the technical language this team works in.
Freshers pick up the Six Sigma side
DFMEA, P-Diagram, DVPR, Monte Carlo and PDSC are new product development paperwork, and nobody arrives from college fluent in them. The desired list treats lean and DMAIC as awareness, so reading up on the basics is enough to follow the conversation. The part that stands out on a mechanical design posting is Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate: Eaton wants someone who can pull numbers out of design and quality records, not just model parts. If you've built a dashboard for a college project or a club, that's directly relevant here.
After a couple of years in a group like this, the usual move is engineer, then senior engineer, with sideways options into quality or manufacturing engineering. Ask which product line in Conveyance you'd be placed on, because hose, tubing and fittings assemblies behave differently to model than a single machined part.
