HireSetu's note

Two requirements, one long wish list

The non-negotiables are an electrical or computer engineering degree and hands-on System Verilog, used for design and verification, not one or the other. Project work where you wrote RTL and built the testbench around it puts you in the right shape. Verilog from a single course does not, and that gap is worth closing before you apply.

The preferred list is longer than it looks. TCL, Python, Perl, C, C++, Unix, Synopsys and Cadence tools are marked "one or several", so nobody expects the whole set. Name the two you genuinely know and can describe your work in. Zero to three years is a real band here, and the posting openly invites recent graduates.

Digital, analog or mixed signal

The role is written to flex around your background, so where you land depends on what you bring. Touch controllers need both ends: capacitance sensing on the analog side, digital processing behind it. State clearly in your application which one you have coursework or projects in.

Design reviews, documentation and methodology work take up a real share of the week alongside the design and verification itself. That is normal on an IP team, and it means your code and your write-ups get read closely. Two things to confirm when you talk to them: which product area you would be assigned to, and whether the work leans design or verification. Those two paths diverge within a couple of years.

How to apply

  1. Open Microchip's careers site with the Apply button.
  2. Create a Workday account for Microchip. Workday logins are separate for every company, so an account made for another employer won't work here.
  3. Upload your resume and check every auto-filled field; Workday often misreads dates and job titles.
  4. Answer the screening questions, submit, and look for the confirmation email from Workday.
