Innovaccer is looking for a System Engineer, Enterprise - IT to help in building, maintain, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding information technology team. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Systems Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring that computing systems and equipment are operating effectively and efficiently. To be successful in this position you will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of the industry’s best practices and evidence of a professional track record of effective technical management, information analysis, and a thorough understanding of computer hardware, software & network systems.
A Day in the Life

An engineer's title, a support desk's day
Read the day-in-the-life list closely. Tickets, laptop installs, asset registers, patch monitoring, software licences. That is desktop support for internal employees, and it's the whole job. Server administration, cloud infrastructure and automation sit with other teams.
That's not a knock on the role. Enterprise support is where you see how a real company's machines, permissions and software actually run, and you meet every team in the building. It shapes you into someone who can fix a problem under a deadline with a person waiting.
Revise the faults you have already fixed
Hardware troubleshooting is on the list and it means real diagnosis: a machine that won't boot, a disk on its way out, RAM that needs reseating, a driver that broke after an update. Have two or three fixes you did yourself ready to describe, with the symptom, what you tried and what turned out to be wrong.
On the software side, get past the Ubuntu GUI: adding users, permissions, installing packages, reading logs. Basic networking means IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and the ping-and-traceroute habit of narrowing down where a connection dies. Patching across three operating systems is mostly scheduling and verification, so understand why a machine needs a restart after an update lands.
Put repairs and people at the top
Lead your CV with hardware troubleshooting and end-user support, then Windows and Ubuntu desktop, then networking basics. Asset tracking, licence spreadsheets and patch compliance go lower, but include them if you have anything real, even a college lab where you kept the machine inventory.
Evidence of dealing with people counts here, because clear spoken and written communication is the first requirement listed. A part-time job, a student club helpdesk, a freelance repair gig: say how many people you supported and what you handled on your own.
Ask about the shift pattern and any on-call rota, since a support desk has to cover more than one set of hours.
