Where these hires come from
The essential list wants relevant experience as a business analyst or techno-functional analyst inside capital markets, securities, broking or trading technology, plus hands-on time on a trade execution platform or an OMS. A fresh MBA or an engineering graduate with no broking exposure will find that hard to clear.
The hires that fit come from three places: broking operations or RMS teams who already know order flow and margins, QA and production support staff who have worked on a trading platform, and developers who have spent a couple of years on order management systems. Moving from one of those into analysis is the natural step.
Front-load the platform names
NEST or Omnesys NEST experience goes in the first line of your summary, with the number of years beside it. Same for any other OMS you have run or supported.
After that, list the lifecycle stages you have covered, the artefacts you have written (BRDs, functional specs, user stories, acceptance criteria), and the testing you have run through SIT, UAT and regression. FIX connectivity, exchange links to NSE or BSE, and RMS pre-trade limits each deserve a line with a concrete example of what you changed or fixed. Vendor-side work counts too, since this role sits between third-party product teams and internal technology.
It is a production job as much as a documentation one
The accountabilities run well past writing requirements: root-cause analysis on application and interface issues using SQL, logs and data reconciliation, release support, incident tracking. On a live trading platform those land while the market is open, when a dealer cannot place an order and time is short.
Ask how the BA cover is split on trading days, since that decides whether your week is mostly workshops or mostly live issues. If your background is business analysis with no real exposure to logs or queries, get comfortable with SQL on transactional tables and with reading application logs before you apply.
