Four groups send you the work

Field service, purchasing, marketing and the CTS teams worldwide all raise change requests, and each one reaches you as a problem rather than a brief. Your job is to turn it into a proposal: what actually changes, which parts are affected, what the schematic drawings look like, then sit with project leaders and customers and defend the design. You present those proposals yourself, so the work is not done once the CAD file is finished.

Treat each request as a project. You define the means, the budget and the release timing, and report progress to your project leader and management. Small changes still eat weeks of coordination.

Part numbers carry the risk

A big part of the job is creating new part numbers, revising existing ones and releasing parts and drawings in ENOVIA, along with checking 3D assemblies and 2D drawings into it. Kits and spares mean a wrong revision does not stay inside the CAD file. It reaches someone fitting the wrong part in the field.

If you have used Windchill or Teamcenter, the logic of revisions, states and releases carries across. ENOVIA's own screens you pick up on the job. What gets tested is whether you notice that a draw-and-release cycle is clean.

Casting design and the things to revise

Plastics and aluminium castings are the technical heart of this role, and the listing asks for strong analytical skills alongside them. Before an interview, go back over wall thickness, draft angles, parting lines, shrinkage and ribbing. These are the details that decide whether a casting can be made and machined at all.

It is hybrid and based at GECIA in Pune. If commuting shapes your week, ask early how many days are expected in office.
