The line that decides your application

Razorpay asks for a bachelor's degree, communication and analytical skills, and MS Office, then states plainly that reconciliation experience is a must. Treat that as the gate and the degree as the formality. Recon here means matching settlement files and refunds from partner banks against Razorpay's own records, finding the mismatch and closing it. General ledger or accounts payable work without that matching won't read as relevant.

Have one recon you can describe end to end: the volume, what failed to match, who you chased, and the day it closed.

Chasing banks is the job

A refund that never reached a customer or a settlement that came up short is not solved by replying to the ticket. You take it to the bank, follow up, and reconcile the transaction once the money moves. That's why bank coordination comes first in the listing and the Tech team second, for when a refund or settlement fails inside the system.

SLAs shape the week, along with the weekly and monthly reports. Daily volume and a bank's response time decide whether a day goes well.

Between support and finance

Get this straight before you apply. The closing logic is different from a customer support seat where the answer ends the case. It's also not accounting, though you'll work with Finance on recon and with Support and Sales on escalations. You sit in the middle of all four, holding the transaction-level detail on money coming in and going out.

Excel, and a working AI habit

MS Office is mandatory and means real spreadsheet work: reconciliation sheets, report pulls, matching large files. The AI line is the unusual one. A basic understanding means you have used a tool to cut a repetitive step, such as cleaning a statement before matching or summarising what keeps landing in the ticket queue. One concrete example of that carries more weight on your CV than a list of tools.
