Two standards in the same seat
Plenty of EDI developers spend years inside a single standard. Mouser wants both ANSI X.12 and EDIFACT, across a retailer's back office in miniature: purchase orders, acknowledgements, advance ship notices, invoices, inventory and product activity, changes, and the 997 that closes the loop. You'll be judged on mapping data elements accurately and knowing which values are compliant for each transaction set, because a bad element breaks a trading partner's feed quietly.
XML, CBXML and iDoc mapping sit alongside. iDoc is SAP's format, so any SAP integration exposure earns its place on your CV. If your background is one standard and one mapping tool, be straight about which transactions you have run end to end yourself.
The bar is live production work
No years of experience are given, which leaves the rest of the description as the tell. Writing specifications, flow charts, pseudo-code and data-flow diagrams, then deploying transactions through to production installation, is work handed to someone who has done it at least once for real. A fresher who has only read about 850s will struggle to sound credible in this seat.
Two backgrounds fit: an EDI support analyst moving into development, or an integration developer whose work has touched mapping. The job also asks you to suggest changes for scalability, so the team expects opinions on how transactions are built. Bring one example of a mapping or flow you altered and what stopped failing afterwards.
The office days are the one thing to settle early, since hybrid in Pune can mean anything from two days a week to something looser.
