HireSetu's note

The domain is the differentiator

Securitized Products is the part of the bank that bundles mortgages and other loans into securities and trades them. Your code would sit against that: structuring deals, pricing them, moving financing through. Banking experience is listed as preferred, which means a strong full stack engineer from outside finance is a genuine candidate, but the first months go into the vocabulary, what a tranche is, and why a settlement date changes what the software has to do.

At Barclays, VP is a senior individual contributor band with real technical ownership. Expect to be making architecture calls on a system, not clearing a ticket queue. Ask whether this team built its platform or took over one the desk has run for years. That decides whether your first year is greenfield work or untangling someone else's schema.

Java on the server, Angular 17 in the browser

Spring Boot with REST APIs and microservices is the spine of the role, and the Spring modules named are specific: MVC, Security, Data, Batch. Batch experience carries weight on a platform that crunches loan-level data, so say so if you've run large scheduled jobs in production. On the front end, Angular 17 or higher is stated as a floor. If your last project ran on v12 or v14, name the version and the newer features you've actually used.

You're expected to touch both data stores, Oracle or MySQL for relational work and MongoDB for the rest, plus Docker, Kubernetes and a CI/CD pipeline on AWS or Azure. Pick the cloud you've genuinely shipped on and be able to describe what ran there.

Day to day this is one person moving between the screen and the service behind it, on a platform where a wrong number is a pricing error.
