HireSetu's note

The legal work is US fund regulation

US subpoenas, IRS summonses and garnishment notices are the enforcement side, handled under supervision. The rest is fund housekeeping: registration statements for retail and ETF funds, annual disclosure updates, interval fund tender offers, board books and quarterly resolutions. It is support work for the Americas legal team, not Indian court practice, and a BA LLB syllabus barely touches any of it. A weekend on the Investment Company Act and how a US mutual fund board operates goes further than another moot court citation.

Four days in Hyderabad, calls on US time

Hybrid here still means four days a week in the Hyderabad office, with one day worked elsewhere. Your counterparts sit in the Americas, EMEA and APAC, and the listing asks for flexibility on working hours. Americas runs on US Eastern time, so late evenings around filing deadlines and board meetings come with the seat.

Worth confirming the shift pattern when you get a call, because it decides whether you can also carry a coaching class or exam prep alongside.

Documents, dates and signatures

A trainee here lives in SharePoint: uploading agreements and amendments, tagging documents in families, chasing signatures through digital tools, keeping spreadsheets accurate. The daily legal calendar and status reports are yours to run, so the week is a cycle of chasing, checking and updating. Attention to detail is the qualification that matters most, since a wrong version number or a missing schedule is a visible mistake in a filing. Word and Excel speed is assumed from day one.

Reading list for a fresh law grad

Know what an ETF, an interval fund and a private fund are, and how they differ. Financial products knowledge is listed as an advantage, which tells you the team would rather explain a filing than a fund structure. The research is into US statutes, SEC filings and fund documents, so get comfortable reading primary sources in that style. Check your marks add up to 60% across every year before you spend time applying, and ask the recruiter whether the start is after your 2027 graduation or alongside your final year.

How to apply

  1. Open Invesco's careers site with the Apply button.
  2. Create a Workday account for Invesco. Workday logins are separate for every company, so an account made for another employer won't work here.
  3. Upload your resume and check every auto-filled field; Workday often misreads dates and job titles.
  4. Answer the screening questions, submit, and look for the confirmation email from Workday.
