  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and real-time communication using WebSockets.
  • Apply AI-assisted coding and debugging tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.
  • Develop user-centric, responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Work in Linux-based environments for application development, testing, and deployment.
  • Implement and manage Docker-based containerized deployments to ensure scalability and portability.
  • Support intelligent automation for testing, deployment, and monitoring (CI/CD exposure).
  • Debug, analyze, and troubleshoot technical issues using structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Collaborate in agile ceremonies and contribute to engineering discussions driven by data and insights.
  • Follow best coding practices and maintain well-documented, maintainable, and testable code.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong programming fundamentals in Java with familiarity in Spring Boot.
  • Knowledge of Angular or modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
  • Basic understanding of real-time systems (WebSockets or event-driven architectures).
  • Hands-on experience with Linux commands and shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development.
  • Understanding of RESTful services and backend–frontend integration.
  • Basic exposure to Docker and containerization concepts.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn AI-assisted engineering practices.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Git and version control workflows.
  • Familiarity with database systems such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automation, or cloud-native concepts.
  • Awareness of AI tools for software engineering (e.g., code assistance, test generation, observability insights).
  • Understanding of secure and scalable application design (a plus).

The AI label oversells the machine learning

Read past the "AI-enabled engineering" heading. The work described is full-stack web development: Java Spring Boot on the back end, Angular on the front, REST APIs and WebSockets connecting the two, Docker containers running on Linux. AI appears as coding assistants, test generation and automation inside the workflow, not as model training.

If you were counting on ML research or working on model architectures, this internship doesn't offer it. If you've built even a small Spring Boot service with an Angular front end, you'll recognise the entire skill list. That project is the thing to talk about, more than the coursework.

The CGPA screen comes before anything else

70% or 7 CGPA, no active backlogs, and a B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or AI/ML. That combination sits at the top of the requirements and gets checked before anyone opens your GitHub. Below the cutoff, this application is a long shot whatever else you've built.

The internship runs from GE HealthCare's Bengaluru premises with no relocation assistance, so you need to already be in or near the city. You're also agreeing upfront to whatever project is assigned based on fitment and business need. The teams named are software, systems, test and reliability engineering, so your work could land in any of them, and that's worth a question about how placement happens.

What to revise

Spring Boot fundamentals first: controllers, dependency injection, and how a request travels through the application. Then WebSockets. Be able to say when a persistent connection makes more sense than repeated REST calls.

On the infrastructure side, know what a Docker image is against a container, and what a Dockerfile produces. For Linux, practise the handful of commands you'd genuinely use to tail a log, check a running process and find a file. Git branching and merge flow come up in any team that reviews pull requests.

Angular or TypeScript components, data binding and calling an API from a service are the front-end half. Pick whichever of the two halves you're weaker in and spend a week there.
