HireSetu's note
The degree is the real filter
Eaton asks for a master's in mechanical, aerospace or applied mechanics and caps experience at one year. That pairing makes this a research-flavoured seat: your thesis work on heat transfer and fluid mechanics carries more weight than internships or tool certificates. Conjugate heat transfer, flow estimation and cooling are named as the medium-complexity problems you'd own, so lead with the modelling you've done yourself.
Running the solve is the small part
Plenty of people picture CFD as setting up a case and hitting run. Here you build the digital prototype, choose the physics, and stand behind why the numbers are trustworthy enough to replace hardware testing. Aerospace and filtration pull in different problems: external and internal flow, cooling paths and heat exchangers on one side, porous media and pressure drop across filter media on the other. Knowing which of those you've actually touched in coursework tells you where you'd fit.
The numbers don't count until a test agrees
Eaton wants predictions correlated against physical testing, and that correlation is the slow core of the job. Models and rigs disagree for dull reasons: a boundary condition that never held, a leak, a sensor in the wrong spot. If you have a project where simulated and measured results didn't line up and you chased down why, use it.
Placement, time zones and hybrid days
You'd work with teams in India, Europe and the US, so ask which product line you'd join, aerospace or filtration, since the physics and the customers differ. Confirm what hybrid means in Pune: days in office, and whether that shifts around program deadlines. Ask who sets your priorities when program requests and SME support requests compete, and how DFSS training fits into the first year.
