HireSetu's note
Fresher on paper, hands-on underneath
The degree requirement and the fresh-graduate line set the level. What sits underneath reads like someone who has already run a pipeline for real: writing and fixing Jenkins jobs, Terraform that provisions AWS with modules and remote state, containerising Java, Python and React apps, deploying to EKS and debugging what lands there.
One cloud course won't cover that spread. An internship, a college project or a self-built setup where you did these end to end puts you in the group this posting is written for. If your exposure is thinner, close part of the gap before you apply.
Where the week actually goes
Three things take most of the time: keeping pipelines green so developers can ship, changing infrastructure as code and getting those changes reviewed, and working out why something broke in a cluster or a cloud environment. Monitoring and observability sit inside that loop, so reading dashboards and logs is routine work.
You'd be joining a team that operates control plane services for Umbrella and Secure Access, so a bad change reaches something customers depend on. Expect careful reviews and a slower pace on production than on a personal project.
Lead the resume with one finished pipeline
Put a single piece of work done end to end at the top: a repo with a Jenkins pipeline, a Dockerfile, Terraform standing up the AWS pieces, deployed onto a Kubernetes cluster, plus a short write-up of what broke and how you found it. A GitHub link with that in it beats a long list of tool names.
After that, Git, Linux command line and one scripting language you can genuinely write. Pick up DNS, HTTP and load balancing at a conversational level too, since this team sits inside a security product.
