Role Definition
Supports the resolution of quality issues and processes for the supply function in the manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Provides conclusions and recommendations for quality issues and/or continuous quality improvement projects.
- Participates in supplier quality improvement initiatives; works with suppliers to develop and improve quality levels.
- Ensures the reliability and quality of suppliers, implementing process controls, certification programs, evaluations, inspections, corrective actions, audits and records.
- Identified quality problem(s) and determines a short-term action plan with the facility management and the supplier.

The Tier 1 preference

Get comfortable with root cause analysis tools, fishbone diagrams and a structured corrective action process that covers containment, root cause, correction and verification. FMEA matters because you'll read supplier PFMEAs and judge whether the failure modes listed are the ones that actually bite.
Six Sigma basics give you the vocabulary for capability arguments: Cp and Cpk, control plans, gauge R&R. Bring one defect you chased from symptom to fix, even from an internship or a college project, and know the numbers around it.
