HireSetu's note
Accuracy carries this job
The listing repeats one idea in three different places: offers launched accurately, quality checks, accurate offer data. That tells you what the work actually is. A marketing offer at a company this size runs on codes, eligibility rules, dates and partner terms, and a wrong field means either a customer who can't redeem or a discount paid out when it shouldn't be.
If you've kept a messy spreadsheet clean, reconciled a college event budget or caught a wrong figure in a report someone else signed off, that's the story to tell. It's closer to the job than any campaign you've run on Instagram.
Excel and the unglamorous middle
Most days look like this: open a tracker, load an offer file, check it line by line against a brief, chase a team on email for a missing approval, then update the performance sheet. The launch gets the excitement; the checking before and the reporting after are what fill the week.
So get comfortable with the Excel you'll actually use: VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting to flag duplicates, and a clean filter. If a formula fails on a text field where a date should be, you should know why. PowerPoint comes up too, since you'll be packaging numbers for people who won't read a spreadsheet.
Ask in the interview how much of the role is reporting versus setup, because the split changes how your days feel.
Two years, then what
Twenty-four months is long enough to leave with something real, so treat the apprenticeship as a runway. The useful exit is into marketing operations, campaign management or a analytics-adjacent role, at American Express or elsewhere. Two things get you there: knowing the offer systems well enough to be the person others ask, and being able to show a report you built that changed a decision.
Keep a running file of what you fixed, what you automated in Excel, and which offers you owned end to end. In two years that list is worth more than the certificate.
One thing to confirm early: how the hybrid split works and which days the team is in the Gurugram office. It affects your commute and how quickly you learn from the people sitting next to you.
