HireSetu's note
Three tracks running at once
The missions read like three jobs because they are: reading and weighing emerging threats, writing scripts that take repetitive security work off someone's plate, and helping watch an estate running on AWS and GCP. Some weeks lean on reading, others on fixing an automation that quietly stopped working. Detection engineering runs through all of it, which means rules that fire on the right thing and stay quiet otherwise. Your tutor sets objectives with you, so arrive with a rough sense of which track you want more of.
Zero experience is the hard gate
The no-full-time-work rule filters on employment, not on skill. Internships, academic projects and a home lab all count; a single year of full-time work anywhere, security or not, closes the door. Lead your CV with what you built and broke: a lab you assembled, logs you read by hand, a script that saved you an hour a week. Day-to-day analysis leans on Windows and Linux internals, so know your way around processes, file systems and logs on both.
Wider than a first SOC job
Most entry-level security roles start in a queue, triaging alerts written by someone else. This year spreads across research, tooling and cloud guardrails with a tutor steering it, so less depth in one area and more sight of how the pieces connect. It is also fixed at 12 months. If a permanent seat at Airbus afterwards matters to you, raise what happens at the end early, before you build plans around it.
Bengaluru, with Europe in the loop
You would sit with Airbus's India cyber team and work on infrastructure spread across regions, so some calls land in European hours. Airbus mentions flexible working, so a hybrid week is likely, but get the office days and any monitoring shifts pinned down before you commit. The May 2026 start is fixed, so check it clears your final exams and graduation.
