HireSetu's note

The degree and the domain

The listing opens with M.E or M.Tech Mechanical Engineering, and that reads as a genuine filter. A B.E with strong CAD work might get a look, but the transformer side is the harder gate: design exposure to dry-type distribution transformers, mechanical calculations, dielectrics, clearance and creepage, cleats lead arrangement. Two years of CAD on pumps or switchgear housings will not map onto winding and tank design.

Higher experience will be considered, so the 0 to 2 years is soft. The domain is not. If a master's project or a first job touched transformers, this fits you squarely.

The vocabulary of the job

Dry-type transformers up to 10 MVA and 33 kV carry no oil, so cooling is by air and dielectric clearances do more of the work. That is why creepage and clearance sit in the requirements. Winding design, tank and externals, thermal performance, short-circuit withstand and sound level are the terms this team uses daily.

The standards list runs IS, IEC, IEEE and Canadian. The Canadian entries tell you some projects ship to North America, where CSA rules differ from IEC on clearances and ratings. Know which standard you designed to previously and say which one.

The daily work

You generate the active part, windings, tank and externals against factory limits and checklists, then produce customer documents, manufacturing drawings and bills of material to a project schedule. Those drawings reach customers and other factories, so accuracy is the whole job.

The work is onsite at Maneja in Vadodara and the team is spread across a worldwide factory network, with internal design reviews along the way. Coordination with technical teams in other countries can mean early or late calls.

Loose ends to check

Which standards your projects follow is worth settling early, since IEC and Canadian work pull in different reference material. Ask how work is divided between winding design and tank and externals; the listing names both, and you may end up owning one area.

Simulation and software development experience is listed as advantageous, so if you have either, it belongs near the top of your CV. The team spans several countries, so find out whether the role involves travel or stays in Vadodara.
