The candidate will work closely with sale operations, and leadership teams to analyze business performance, identify growth opportunities, improve reporting processes, and support decision-making across customer, revenue, and market-facing functions.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze sales, customer, market, and operational data to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities for business growth.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and scorecards using tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting platforms.
  • Support sales operations activities including pipeline tracking, revenue analysis, forecast support, account performance review, and business planning.
  • Work with sales and marketing teams to evaluate customer acquisition, campaign outcomes, market performance, and business development opportunities.
  • Convert raw data into clear insights and recommendations that can help managers make informed decisions.
  • Prepare business review materials, performance summaries, presentations, and analytical reports for internal stakeholders.

  • Conduct market, competitor, customer, and product performance analysis to support strategy and planning discussions.
  • Assist in CRM analysis, sales funnel review, customer segmentation, and opportunity tracking.
  • Support leadership with ad hoc analysis, business cases, and decision-making inputs related to sales, operations, strategy, or market expansion.

  • Good analytical skills with the ability to work with structured business data, identify patterns, and explain findings clearly.
  • Working knowledge of Excel is essential; exposure to SQL, Power BI, Tableau, CRM systems, or predictive analytics will be an advantage.
  • Ability to understand business problems, ask the right questions, and convert analysis into practical recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, multiple stakeholders, and changing business priorities.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on data accuracy, reporting discipline, and process improvement.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and willing to learn new tools, business models, and analytical methods.

HireSetu's note

The MBA requirement is the filter

HARMAN asks for an MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree in business analytics, general management, marketing or sales. Final-year engineering students and BCom graduates won't clear that bar. Excel is the only tool described as essential. SQL, Power BI, Tableau and CRM work are listed as an advantage, so you can apply without them, knowing you're up against people who have all four. If your spreadsheet skills stop at VLOOKUP and a basic pivot table, that gap is worth closing before you apply.

The analyst title covers commercial work

People read "analyst" and picture Python notebooks and model training. The task list here is pipeline tracking, forecast support, account performance reviews, CRM and funnel analysis, competitor and customer analysis, and the business review decks that go with them. The output is a number a sales leader acts on, plus the slide that explains it. Explaining why one region's conversion fell and what to do next matters more than coding depth. Take a messy table of sales numbers and write three takeaways from it, in plain sentences. That's the job.

How a week tends to run

Dashboards refresh on a schedule, so a solid block of the week goes into pulling data, cleaning it and checking figures before anyone senior looks at them. Then the standing work: forecast updates, pipeline hygiene, campaign outcome reviews. Ad hoc requests arrive whenever a leader needs an answer for a meeting, and those jump the queue. You'll sit with sales and marketing teams to work out what the numbers mean, which is where a general management background earns its keep. HARMAN states plainly that priorities shift, so a vague brief is normal here.

Settle these before you sign

Internship can mean a ten-week summer stint or a year-long programme with a full-time offer attached. Ask which one this is, and how many interns in this team have converted in the last couple of years. Find out which part of HARMAN Automotive you'd support: sales operations for in-vehicle infotainment accounts is a different job from supporting a regional distribution or aftermarket team, and the data you'd touch changes with it. Ask too who sets your priorities when sales and marketing both want analysis in the same week.

How to apply

  1. Open HARMAN's careers site with the Apply button.
  2. Create a Workday account for HARMAN. Workday logins are separate for every company, so an account made for another employer won't work here.
  3. Upload your resume and check every auto-filled field; Workday often misreads dates and job titles.
  4. Answer the screening questions, submit, and look for the confirmation email from Workday.
