HireSetu's note

Most of your week goes to suppliers

You assess a supplier's plant before Flex approves them, then follow up when their parts cause problems. That means reviewing their manufacturing process, pushing for root cause and corrective action, and recovering costs when their defects hit Flex.

Expect pushback, and expect to write a lot. The communication requirement is not filler: your findings go to a supplier and an internal team who both have to act on them.

The branch list is a hard filter

ECE, EEE, IC, Mechanical and Mechatronics. Civil, computer science or a general production degree falls outside that list. Zero to two years genuinely means a 2024 or 2025 graduate with a plant internship is in range.

APQP, PPAP and FMEA are the vocabulary to know properly, at least as far as what documents a supplier submits and what each one proves. TS16949 is the older name for IATF 16949, so read about it under the current label.

Pune, onsite, and shifts that follow production

Flex asks for flexibility on shifts. Electronics manufacturing runs around the clock, so a junior quality engineer can be aligned to a shift or covering one when a supplier issue lands late.

Worth confirming where you would be based: the plant itself or closer to the supplier side. That decides your commute and your hours more than the title does.

Quality here is process and paperwork

Hearing Quality, many people picture incoming inspection, measuring parts against a drawing all day. Inspection is a slice of it. The bulk is PPAP approvals, first article inspection, control plans, KPI reporting and readiness for internal and external audits.

A plant internship where you documented a process, wrote a procedure or ran a measurement study is the closest match. Bring a report you wrote, since a clean, accurate write-up is the deliverable in this job.

How to apply

  1. Open Flex's careers site with the Apply button.
  2. Create a Workday account for Flex. Workday logins are separate for every company, so an account made for another employer won't work here.
  3. Upload your resume and check every auto-filled field; Workday often misreads dates and job titles.
  4. Answer the screening questions, submit, and look for the confirmation email from Workday.
