HireSetu's note
The ceremonies are standard, the subject isn't
You'd run stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives, and keep Jira and Azure DevOps boards current. That part is ordinary Scrum Master support work. What the team actually builds is not: Dynatrace onboarding, service mapping, dashboards, alert tuning, automation and AIOps.
Spend a few evenings on what observability means, metrics, traces, logs and alert noise. Nobody expects you to instrument anything, but stand-up updates about telemetry coverage land differently when you know what the team is looking at. It also stops you from treating every blocked item as equally urgent.
Degree is the gate, Agile is learnable
The bachelor's in computer science, IT or engineering is the line you can't work around. Everything else is softer: 0-2 years in IT, software development, project coordination or an Agile environment, and a basic grasp of Scrum and Kanban.
Coordination counts. Running a college fest, keeping a club's task list, managing a small team's deadlines, any of that is the same muscle. The Microsoft Office line matters more than it looks, because you'll be building trackers in Excel and running sessions over Teams. If you've never used Jira or Azure DevOps, set up a free board and move a few items through a sprint before you apply.
Where this title actually sits
Scrum Master is a loose label in Indian IT. At entry level it splits two ways: some people coach teams on process, most administrate the board, schedule the ceremonies, chase updates and escalate blockers. The word 'apprentice' here points at the second kind, with someone senior holding the process decisions.
No certification appears in the requirements, which makes this one of the few routes into the role straight out of college. Observability sits alongside platform and architecture teams, so expect to spend part of each week chasing dependencies between groups that don't report to each other. That coordination work is the job, and it's also the thing you'll be judged on.
