The Impact You'll Make

At Danfoss, we're developing innovative hydraulic solutions that help customers improve performance, efficiency, and productivity. As an Associate Engineer within our Hydrostatics business, you'll play an important role in designing and improving hydraulic pump and motor products that support customers around the world.

In this role, you'll contribute to the development of new products and engineering changes throughout the product lifecycle. Working with global teams, you'll help transform concepts into robust designs, support product improvements, and ensure engineering excellence through quality, compliance, and continuous improvement practices. Your work will directly impact product performance, reliability, and speed to market while helping drive innovation within the Hydrostatics portfolio.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Associate Engineer, you will support product design, engineering change management, and new product development activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization.

  • Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using UG NX and/or Pro/E, while maintaining engineering data within TeamCenter or other PLM systems.
  • Support new product development and product improvement projects by developing concepts, performing stack-up analysis, and converting ideas into detailed designs.
  • Manage engineering changes from initiation through release, ensuring compliance with established standards, processes, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct assembly-level layout analysis, identify design risks, and provide recommendations that improve product quality, manufacturability, and performance.
  • Apply Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools and methodologies, including DFMEA, Risk Management, P-Diagrams, and DVPR, to support predictable and reliable product development.

You'll also collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical issues and ensure designs meet both Danfoss and customer expectations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 1-3 years of experience in product design, engineering change management, or related engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as UG NX and/or Pro/E (Creo).
  • Experience working with TeamCenter, Enovia, or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards and practices, including GD&T, stack-up analysis, and ASME/ISO standards.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with hydraulic products, particularly piston pumps and motors, will be considered an advantage.

Knowledge of new product development methodologies and exposure to Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools and practices would also be beneficial.

What You'll Get from Us

  • We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  • You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.
  • We strive to create an inclusive work environment where people of all backgrounds are respected, and valued for who they are.
  • You’ll receive benefits like 13th salary, annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, personal insurance, and more. These vary by country and contract, but they’re worth asking about—we think they’re pretty great.

HireSetu's note

Most of the week is change work

A revision lands from a supplier or a customer, you model it in UG NX or Pro/E, sort out the stack-up, update the drawing to GD&T and ASME or ISO conventions, then take it through TeamCenter or Enovia from initiation to release. Concept work for new products runs alongside, with assembly layout analysis and design risk reviews feeding in.

Both CAD packages are named, so the group is not standardised on one. Ask which of NX or Creo the Hydrostatics team runs and whether you would be on it daily. Fluency in one and rust on the other is workable. Fluency in neither is the problem.

The one-to-three year bar

Associate Engineer sounds like a fresher title. The requirement does not. A mechanical graduate with a solid final-year project and no exposure to drawing release or change management is reading this listing for the wrong job, even if the internship looked similar.

If your background is automotive components or sheet metal, the design mechanics transfer. Hydraulics does not, which is why piston pumps and motors sit in the preferred list. Ask which product line you would be placed on and how much of the DFSS set, DFMEA, P-diagram and DVPR, actually lands with your team.
