Quick answer: No experience needed, but the sticking point is registration in a regionally certified apprenticeship or training programme, and a cold application from a diploma or degree holder may not clear it. The daily work is Creo models, drawings, GD&T self-checks and PLM housekeeping on parts you won't be designing.

HireSetu's note

Enrolment decides eligibility

High school is the stated education bar, which tells you this is an entry route. The binding condition sits further down: you need to meet the minimum requirements to enter a formal, regionally certified apprenticeship or training programme, and be registered in one where that applies. If you're a diploma or BE holder applying on your own, find out how this intake runs in Pune, through a regional body, an institute or Cummins directly, because that registration is what the role is built around.

There's no relocation package, so plan on already living in Pune. The job is office-based, on-site with some flexibility. Ask which product group you'd rotate through and how long each rotation lasts.

Revision work fills the week

Most of your time goes into Creo and the PLM system: building and updating models, producing drawings, keeping bills of materials current, and running the CAD checklists before anything gets released. Parts arrive as sheet metal, castings or welded structures, and you dimension and tolerance them, so you'll spend a lot of the day reading drawings other people made.

Right First Time and On-Time Delivery are named objectives, which means your output is counted and rework after release is the thing that stings. Expect detailed, deliberate work at a steady pace, closer to documentation than to concept design. The technicians who last here are the ones who get a kick out of a drawing being exactly right.
