HireSetu's note

The degree is the hard filter

Everything else here is soft. Mechanical, production or manufacturing engineering, degree or diploma, is what gets the application read, and "or a related discipline" leaves only a little room. Familiarity with CNC machines, end mills, drills and reamers is listed as desirable, which is honest wording: apply without it and you are still in the running. If you have a workshop or internship where you stood next to a grinding machine, describe the machine and the part you saw made.

Revise drawings, tool geometry, carbide

Reading an engineering drawing is a stated requirement and the most testable one. Practise pulling tolerances, surface finish and datums out of a component drawing, because that is the skill the rest of the job leans on. Then the tool itself: what a solid carbide end mill does against an indexable insert, why tool wear matters, what edge preparation changes. Know carbide grades and coatings at least roughly. None of this is a company secret, it is the vocabulary of the trade.

A week looks like walking the floor

The duties are coordination-heavy: tracking output and downtime, reporting deviations, watching quality parameters, keeping raw material and finished goods moving. You will spend your day between the machines, quality, maintenance and planning teams.

The role is onsite in Bengaluru, and trainee production jobs on a machine shop floor run to shifts. Ask about the rotation and whether you move across departments or stay on one line.

Two years in, the options widen

Cutting tool manufacturing is a small, specialised field in India, and a couple of years in it teaches processes that general machining roles do not. Production engineer, process and quality roles in tooling, automotive or aerospace components are the obvious next moves.

Ask exactly which operations you will be trained on. The listing spans grinding, machining, edge preparation, inspection and packaging, and those are very different jobs to spend a year doing.

How to apply

  1. Open CERATIZIT's careers site with the Apply button.
  2. Create a Workday account for CERATIZIT. Workday logins are separate for every company, so an account made for another employer won't work here.
  3. Upload your resume and check every auto-filled field; Workday often misreads dates and job titles.
  4. Answer the screening questions, submit, and look for the confirmation email from Workday.
