Where the bar actually sits
About one year of hands-on experience in SRE, DevOps, cloud operations or build and release engineering. That puts it past a fresher slot: they expect you to have broken a pipeline and fixed it, or worked through a failed deployment with logs open. The degree line reads computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience, so a support engineer or sysadmin who has drifted into automation is a fair fit without a CS degree.
The rest of the list is standard junior ops kit: Git with real branching and pull requests, one CI/CD platform (Azure DevOps, Jenkins or GitHub Actions), scripting in Shell, PowerShell or Python, and the ability to read logs and find why a deployment failed. If you have six months of internship plus a homelab running containers, say what you actually built and ran.
The title says engineer, the work is operations
Associate Software Engineer reads like a development job. Here it covers CI/CD upkeep, deployment automation, dashboards, alert response, root cause write-ups and runbooks, with Java and Spring Boot services as the thing being kept alive. Someone who wants to write features will find this thin. Someone who likes making releases repeatable and tracing why a deploy fell over will settle in quickly.
Hard requirements: Docker and Kubernetes basics, log and alert analysis, one scripting language you have used outside a tutorial. Terraform, Bicep, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor and Spring Boot support all sit under Preferred, so infrastructure as code can be learned after joining. The listing mentions operational support without spelling out a schedule. Ask what the support rotation looks like, because it shapes your week more than anything else here.
