HireSetu's note
The unglamorous half of EV work
Batteries and motors get the attention. Connectors and terminals are where the mechanical detail gets fussy: a housing that has to hit a current rating, seal against water, hold a latch under vibration and still fit into a shrinking space. Weight, fastener loads and heat dissipation all show up in the day-to-day. If your college projects were brackets or chassis parts, the instincts carry over. The electrical side won't, so spend an evening on contact resistance and why a connector heats up under load, since the listing asks for basic electronics understanding alongside the mechanical work.
What earns a callback on the CV
Lead with CAD and GD&T. Not a list of software names, but a part where you set datums, tolerances and a feature control frame and could explain why. Then DFMEA, because it appears next to B&P diagrams and scorecards as the DFSS toolkit this team uses, and hardly any mechanical course covers those. ENOVIA is the PLM system for releasing drawings through change orders and change requests, so any PLM exposure, even a college licence, deserves a line. Connector experience is listed as required but not compulsory. A portfolio of untoleranced CAD models with no analysis behind them tells a reviewer very little.
Your employer may change hands
Eaton has announced it will combine its Mobility group, eMobility included, with a new company, expected to close in the first half of 2027. Whoever hires you now may not be your employer a year later. That is common in this sector, but ask which legal entity the role sits in, which product line, which site, and how the connector team is structured after the split. Also ask how many projects an associate engineer carries and who reviews drawing releases, because a matrix setup means priorities arrive from more than one direction.
