Quick answer: Backend work wiring GitHub webhooks into LLM-driven pipelines that review pull requests, in Python or Node.js. Remote from India, but the Pacific overlap pushes your working day into the evening and night.

From Autter's job posting

FULL-TIME

Autter runs agentic pipelines to analyse every pull request that comes through. We're looking for a backend engineer who wants to work close to that layer. You'll help build and maintain the systems that detect blast radius, security vulnerabilities, behavioral regressions, and AI-generated code quality issues. The work is real and the surface area is large.

What you'll do

Build and maintain backend services in Node.js or Python that power PR analysis

Work on agentic orchestration pipelines using LLM APIs

Integrate with the GitHub API and process webhook events

Write scripts and tooling to support analysis and testing pipelines

Help improve the accuracy and speed of existing detection engines

HireSetu's note

The Pacific overlap shapes your week

Autter's team runs on Pacific time, which is nine and a half hours behind IST. A normal 9-to-6 day here won't line up with theirs, so expect live hours in your evening and beyond. Confirm how much real overlap they want and when the daily sync lands before you commit, because a 10pm standup is a different job from an async one.

If you're finishing a degree or holding another job, work out whether the schedule actually fits.

Lead with the pipeline you built

Python or Node.js is the entry bar, and either one clears it. Pick your stronger language and put it first. Above that, lead with anything where you called an LLM API inside a loop and had to keep it standing: retries, timeouts, rate limits, token spend, malformed responses. Webhook handling is equally relevant, including signature checks and duplicate deliveries. A tool that comments on diffs or summarises a PR sits closer to this work than a polished CRUD service.

Agent loops are mostly plumbing

The topics worth a weekend of revision are the unglamorous ones: exponential backoff, structured output validation, streaming responses, caching, and deduplicating work so a large diff doesn't burn the budget in one pass. Blast radius analysis means tracing which files and services a change touches, so reading dependency graphs and call sites is part of the day.

Nobody expects you to have built all of it. One pipeline you can describe end to end, including the part that broke and how you found out, says more than a list of frameworks.
