The certificate does the filtering
A valid ITI certificate from a recognised institute is the one thing you cannot work around, and the trade has to sit in or near Electrician, Fitter, Machinist or Mechanic. Past that the bar is modest: comfortable with your trade's tools and machinery, aware of safety rules and quality basics, and for engineering trades able to read a technical drawing.
Put the trade, the certificate and the institute at the top of your CV, with the year you passed out. Everything else on the page is secondary to that line.
Heavy equipment, several jobs in one day
These are large motors and generators for power generation, marine, oil and gas, mining and data centres, so the parts you handle are big and the handling has to be careful. This is not light assembly work at a single bench.
Read the responsibilities closely and you will see the day is broad: quality and testing checks under a mentor, consumables and spare parts kept ready, preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, and cycle time numbers handed back to internal teams. Trainees who picture themselves at one machine all shift are in for a surprise.
Shifts in Vadodara, and a wait
You report to a Shift Leader at an onsite plant, which points to a rotating roster and a daily commute to the works. Vadodara's heavy manufacturing units run multiple shifts, so ask which shop you would join, which shift, and how the rotation is set once you get a call.
Plan around the pipeline point too. With no vacancy open, there is no start date to organise your life around, and your application sits until a matching role comes up. Anyone who needs income in the next month should keep applying elsewhere while this one matures.
Drawings before the first cut
A technical drawing carries the views, dimensions and notes that define a part. It tells a fitter which face to machine, where a hole sits and the size it should finish at. A machinist reads the same views when setting a cut.
Reading and interpreting these sheets sits among the abilities named for engineering trades, alongside basic knowledge of tools and machinery.
Cycle time and machine upkeep
Cycle time is the clocked span for one unit to pass a production step, and the work includes providing that data for the production process to internal teams.
Preventive maintenance covers scheduled checks, lubrication and part swaps made before a machine fails. Corrective maintenance is the repair after a breakdown. Consumables, machinery and equipment spares, and both maintenance streams sit among the trainee's listed duties.
