TransUnion's Job Applicant Privacy Notice Team Overview The Lead Developer is responsible for driving end‑to‑end technical delivery across complex initiatives, providing hands‑on development expertise, and guiding a team of engineers toward high‑quality, scalable, and secure solutions. This role requires strong ownership, the ability to operate independently, and consistent collaboration with cross‑functional teams including QA, DevOps, Product and Architecture.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. Role Overview And Core Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Lead design, development, and implementation of backend and/or full‑stack solutions using modern frameworks and cloud‑native practices. Provide hands‑on coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. Translate high‑level requirements into scalable technical designs and sequence/architecture diagrams. Drive performance testing, ensuring API and service‑level SLAs are met before merges (aligned with expectations from recent release and merge retrospectives). Maintain high code quality standards, ensuring compliance with security, vulnerability remediation, and best practices. Delivery & Ownership Own features and modules end‑to‑end—from estimation to delivery—ensuring timely outcomes without repeated follow‑ups. Actively drive stories to closure, maintain clear documentation, and proactively identify and resolve blockers. Ensure smooth code merges across initiative branches and mainline develop branches, handling merge conflicts and coordinating with team branch leads. Uphold functional testing responsibility when QA capacity is constrained; collaborate closely with QA on certification, coverage, and test case readiness.
