TransUnion's Job Applicant Privacy Notice Team Overview Role Overview As a Software Engineer (Java Backend), you will contribute to the development and modernization of fraud platform capabilities by building scalable, cloud-ready backend services. You will work closely with senior engineers, product management, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with platform and product goals. This role requires hands-on development expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on moderately complex technical challenges under guidance.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. Role Overview And Core Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Collaborate with architects, senior developers, and product teams to design, develop, and enhance backend services for the fraud platform Contribute to the implementation of cloud-native solutions and support modernization initiatives for existing applications Develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based microservices following defined architecture and coding standards Analyze moderately complex technical problems and provide solutions by applying established guidelines and best practices Support integration of fraud point solutions into the broader platform with a focus on performance, scalability, and security Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure code quality and reliability Work with DevOps and platform teams to support CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with product requirements and technical design Ways of Working Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (PI planning, sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and deliver on committed tasks Seek guidance when needed while demonstrating ownership of assigned deliverables Work within defined processes an
