Title: Engineering Manager Location: Bangalore/Pune, India Overview: Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, delivery, and ongoing support of a .NET-based web application. This role will provide both people leadership and technical direction for a team of software engineers, partnering closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA, UX, DevOps, security, operations, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, high-quality digital capabilities. The Engineering Manager will be accountable for team performance, engineering execution, technical standards, delivery commitments, and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, Azure platforms, modern web application architecture, Agile delivery, and a proven ability to mentor engineers, manage priorities, resolve technical risks, and align engineering outcomes with business goals. Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team responsible for building, enhancing, and supporting the application. Own engineering execution across the software development lifecycle, including solution design, development, code quality, testing, release readiness, deployment, support, and production stability. Provide technical direction for application architecture, development, RESTful APIs, integrations, database design, security, scalability, reliability, and performance. Partner with Product Owners, Architects, QA, UX, DevOps, security, operations, and business stakeholders to translate business priorities into clear technical plans and delivery milestones. Drive engineering best practices, including clean code, design patterns, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, source control, observability, documentation, and secure development standards.
