 Position Role Type: Onsite Overview: We are seeking a Principal CAE Automation Engineer to drive the digital transformation of structural analysis processes through software development and workflow automation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python and TCL/Tk, combined with a solid understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) and stress engineering. This role involves designing and deploying scalable automation tools for commercial CAE applications, driving engineering productivity, influencing automation strategy, mentoring engineers, and championing software development best practices for CAE applications. Education and mandatory skill requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering. 12+ years of hands-on experience developing engineering automation solutions using Python and TCL/Tk. Proven experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining engineering software and automation tools for CAE applications. Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming, software architecture, and code optimization. Experience developing automation for one or more commercial CAE tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, HyperWorks, MSC Nastran/Patran, ANSA, FEMAP, or Siemens NX. Strong understanding of FEA modelling standards. Experience developing GUIs, APIs, and workflow automation tools. Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control (Git), code reviews, debugging, testing, and documentation. Experience integrating engineering tools with databases, PLM systems, or engineering data repositories. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
