Job Summary This Safety Engineer position is part of the Functional Safety Competence Center and contributes to the development of safety-compliant semiconductor products. Key responsibilities are defining, analyzing, and validating safety concepts and architectures, including developing safety requirements and performing Safety Analyses. The Safety Engineer collaborates with implementation teams, systems, hardware, and software teams to deliver robust, certifiable solutions and to ensuring a Functional Safety compliant development process. Candidates with strong experience in Microcontroller and Microprocessor architecture and Safety product development are preferred. Exceptions may be made for candidates having no prior safety experience but have strong background in chip design architecture and are motivated to learn Functional Safety. Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent. 5–8 years of experience in semiconductor product development with exposure to functional safety. Strong understanding of microcontroller and microprocessor architectures and their application in automotive or industrial safety domains. Strong understanding of IP and SoC level Safety mechanisms. Understanding safety standards (ISO 26262 or IEC 61508) and associated development lifecycles and work products. Experience with safety analysis techniques such as
