As a Software Engineering Manager, you are responsible for guiding cross-functional engineering teams, including software, quality, and reliability engineers to drive strategic technical direction and operational excellence. You act as a primary bridge between business stakeholders and technical execution, ensuring that all solutions align with EFX secure development guidelines and architecture standards. Your core focus includes defining technical vision and roadmaps, managing service level objectives (SLAs/SLOs/SLIs), overseeing complex system design, and fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and talent development. You balance the tactical needs of sprint execution with long-term strategic initiatives to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant software solutions. What you will do Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including product, business, and sales partners. Simplify complex technical problems for non-technical audiences. Manage and mentor cross-functional engineering teams (Software, Quality, and SRE). Foster a culture of accountability, continuous upskilling, and high performance. Partner with architects and SRE leads to define, maintain, and report on SLA/SLO/SLIs. Ensure team compliance with secure software development lifecycles (SSDLC) and FinOps KPIs. Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and drive comprehensive technical documentation, including system support runbooks. What experience you need Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 10–14 years of software engineering experience, including at least 3+ years in a people management/supervisory role overseeing engineering squads.
