Role Definition As a Manufacturing Engineer – Industry 4.0 in the Large Power Systems Division at Caterpillar, located in Lafayette, IN, you will have an opportunity to provide the technical expertise, leadership and guidance to ensure effective process traceability and machine data collection. What you will do: •Create and maintain Industry 4.0 applications in a manufacturing/production environment. •Facilitation of connecting production machinery & equipment to factory networks to enable Industry 4.0 analytics. •Define, create project plan, and execute the connection to new machinery. •Provide facilities and production machinery & equipment design information, reviewing and approving proposals and serving as the primary CAT Lafayette contact to internal process partners (Operations), contractors and suppliers. •Approve equipment specifications and writing purchase requisitions. •Act as a troubleshooter and investigating and determin
